A brief description of the event(s):
The Sustainability Advisory Committee's Outreach subcommittee schedules speakers each year on a variety of topics related to sustainability which are open to the entire campus community. Some notable campus speakers in the past few years secured outside of the SAC community include E.O. Wilson, Denis Hayes, Gifford Pinchot III, and Terry Tempest Williams. In addition, the university partners annually with local colleges and universities to plan an annual South Sound Sustainability Expo (open to the public) and Summit (involving students, faculty and staff from each campus). We hosted this regional event on our campus in February 2009.
