A brief description of the institution’s community garden:
The Plant2Plate Student Garden at the University of Pittsburgh is managed by the Plant2Plate student organization. The 0.5-acre garden on University-owned land is in close proximity to several campus buildings and residence halls. The garden is fully student-run, providing students with weekly opportunities to work on the garden collectively. Individual garden plots are also available for students or neighborhood residents to rent.

The University is also collaborating with Plant2Plate student members on development of future "pocket gardens," which will help activate growable small plots across campus and expand Plant2Plate’s campus presence.

Plant2Plate also regularly supports neighboring community gardens via partnership, volunteer support, and gardening advice. Starting in 2021, Plant2Plate has collaborated with local nonprofit the Community Human Services (CHS) to install several growing beds and assistance growing fruits and vegetables for CHS Food Pantry shoppers (close to the Plant2Plate garden in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood, where Pitt located).
