At this time, almost all tracked, formal on-campus education about Pitt Sustainability is done by employees and/or students paid to support campus-wide sustainability collaborations (which does not qualify as part of this credit.)
The University of Pittsburgh has an active "Pitt Green" suite of engagement programs designed to include employees and students in campus-wide sustainability efforts, while raising awareness about ways for individuals, departments, events, and student organizations to become more sustainable.
All Pitt Green Ambassadors have knowledge, experience, access, and a direct line to the Office of Sustainability for updated information and resources to help educate and communicate to our University community. Pitt Green Ambassadors are all also a member of the Pitt Green Ambassador community of like-minded professionals who collaborate, share ideas, and help grow the culture of sustainability at Pitt.
Pitt Green Ambassadors are empowered to engage their fellow employees and students in campus-wide Pitt Sustainability efforts (including, but certainly not limited to the Pitt Green suite of engagement programs). In leading their colleagues and friends in supporting sustainability activities across Pitt's campus, Pitt Green Ambassadors influence the ongoing evolution of Pitt's sustainability strategy, programs, and events.
