Research Inventory
Inventory of the institution’s sustainability research:
See attached.
A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory:
To identify and tally externally-funded sustainability research projects, the Office of Sponsored Projects provided data to identify individual faculty conducting this research. We utilized a keyword list and reviewed all external grants to determine those that were sustainability related.
To identify and tally internally-funded sustainability research, data sources included:
1) Funding provided by the Mascaro Center for Sustainability Innovation’s (MCSI) Research Seed Grants
2) Funding provided by MCSI’s Undergraduate Summer Sustainability Research.
3) Sustainability-related research funded by the Pitt Momentum Seed Grants Program.
4) List of faculty appointed by the Provost to MCSI’s Sustainability Faculty Task Force.
These individuals were added to our inventory and only counted once (even if they fit into multiple categories).
