1) LEONARD PETERS FACULTY FELLOWS IN SUSTAINABILITY
The Leonard Peters Faculty Fellows in Sustainability provide opportunities for Pitt faculty members focused on sustainability to contribute to strategic University-wide sustainability goals. Offered by the Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation, the mission of these fellowships is focused on interdisciplinary excellence in sustainability research and education.

Mascaro Faculty Fellows program was established by the Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation with the direct support of the University of Pittsburgh's Provost to enhance the university’s mission of interdisciplinary excellence in research and education. Faculty members from all disciplines across the University of Pittsburgh are eligible.

A brief description of the incentives that academic staff who participate in the program(s) receive:
Pitt's Sustainability Faculty Programs incentivize faculty to broaden their academic focus related to sustainability with awards ranging from $5,000 to $20,000. Funds can be used for summer salary, course release, professional development, training etc.
New courses that have been created and improved as a result of this funding between 2021 and 2023 include:
• Digital Teaching Module for Sustainable Food Systems (Kay Shimizu, 2022-2023)
• Environmental Justice Seminar (Cassie Quigley and Danielle Andrews-Brown, 2022)
• Green Chemistry (Joaquin Rodriguez, 2022)
