A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:

The University conducts engagement assessments of its students, staff and faculty on a regular basis. Faculty members receive a regular survey, called COACHE, that assesses faculty satisfaction. (see http://www.pitt.edu/coache). The University also issued a Staff Climate and Engagement Survey to assess staff member satisfaction. (See https://www.engagementsurvey.pitt.edu/).


A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation (including examples from the previous three years):

Issues raised by the faculty COACHE survey were referred to the Council of Deans, the University Senate and other faculty governance groups for review and action plans. The results of the Staff Climate and Engagement Survey (which closed January 12, 2018), are being reviewed by senior leadership.
