Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Montreal Carbon Pledge

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

By signing the Montréal Carbon Pledge, investors commit to measure and publicly disclose the carbon footprint of their investment portfolios on an annual basis. The University of Ottawa is only the second academic institution in North America to sign on to the pledge.

The Montreal Carbon pledge goes a step further than the investment disclosure outlined in PA-10. By reporting the carbon emissions in the University's portfolio, we can manage the carbon intensity of our investments and divest from the companies that have a poor carbon performance.
