The University of Ottawa offers The Alternative Student Break (ASB) program.The Program is designed to give students the opportunity to participate in a unique volunteer service learning placement during the October and/or February Reading Week. Through the Office of Campus of Sustainability, students can participate in ASB: Zero Waste Campus. Students attend a workshop on waste management, followed by several days spent conducting waste audits around campus, and then analysed and produced data on uOttawa’s recycling programs.
