A brief description of the employee wellness program, policy, or practice:
University has a wellness committee, Active and Healthy Campus, for all employees. Its mandate is to promote determine needs of the employee population and implement wellness activities and initiatives: counselling 7 one hour long sessions per year Services online Smoking, stress management, weight issues Sessions on parenting Chronic illnesses Physical activity Wellness committee Strategic objective in HR Health, Wellness and Leave in Human Resources has the mandate to organize wellness activities, implement policies and procedures that foster work/life balance and address needs of the employee population. Mental Health Strategy is in the process of being developed and implementation is planned for the fall. It has an off-site counselling service offered by a group of consultants, Shepell.fgi. Also on site is a health clinic staffed by doctors, nurse practitioners and nurses which offer smoke cessation, weight management and other specialized services to employees and students.
