Has the institution engaged in a structured assessment process during the previous three years to improve diversity, equity and inclusion on campus?:
Yes
A brief description of the assessment process and the framework, scorecard(s) and/or tool(s) used:
• More information about the University’s Diversity Framework, created in 2016, can be found online here: https://inclusion.uoregon.edu/ideal-framework
• In 2022, the UO’s Division of Equity and Inclusion led an all-campus equity and inclusion climate survey for all faculty, administrators, classified staff and graduate employees, implemented by Gallup, Inc. Action plans for every unit on campus are underway. https://inclusion.uoregon.edu/2022-ideal-climate-survey
• In spring 2022, after a multi-year partnership with the Office of the President, Office of the Provost, and Human Resources, DEI launched a public, institutional, interactive data dashboard into which diversity is embedded into every layer of student, faculty, and staff engagement. We are using that dashboard as a way to hold our institution and its units accountable for equity and inclusion priorities. Individual dashboards are continuing to be built out on a variety of topics around representation, climate, success, and institutional transformation. See: https://provost.uoregon.edu/analytics/dashboards ; https://around.uoregon.edu/content/new-demographics-dashboard-debuts-provosts-website
• The University’s Office of Institutional Research publishes up-to-date reports on student, staff, and faculty demographics and other equity and inclusion outcomes (retention rates, salary comparisons, etc.). They can be found online at: https://ir.uoregon.edu
• The UO takes part in the AAU's Student Engagements at Research Universities (SERU) survey, administered every 3-4 years. The most recent survey was launched in 2020.
• The Assessment and Research office of the Division of Student Life is dedicated to gathering information about student learning and development and the factors that affect learning and development outcomes with a focus on improving them. Their Student Success and Wellbeing initiative measures various aspects of student belonging, and is particularly focused on the experiences of underrepresented students at the UO. https://studentlife.uoregon.edu/research
