Does the institution host a food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource focused on alleviating food insecurity, hunger and poverty among students?:
Yes
A brief description of the food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource:
The UO's Basic Needs program includes a range of food security programs for students, including:
-Student Food Pantry, in collaboration with the local Episcopal church
-Fresh Produce Drops (essentially, a free farmer's market), in collaboration with the local food bank, Food for Lane County
-Ducks Feeding Ducks, which allows students to transfer extra meal points to students in need
-Leftover Textover, where students opt in to receiving notification about available leftover catering. (Note: this program also minimizes food waste.)
-Duck Nest Grocery Shuttle, which takes students to grocery stores that are less expensive but further away from campus.
-Support, including destigmatization, for applying for federal SNAP benefits.
