Green Resilient Office Program

Number of employees served by the program (1st program):

A brief description of how the employee educators are selected (1st program):
The employees are self-selected or may be appointed by a supervisor.

A brief description of the formal training that the employee educators receive (1st program):
Each Green Resilient Office Facilitor attends a lunch orientation that lasts for approximately 1.5 hours. During that time the Office of Sustainability staff and other guest speakers across campus give presentations on how the Green Resilient Office program works and what sustainability programs are available to them across campus. Continuing support (to answer questions or offer best practices) continues as needed. Once staff go through the orientation they can pursue office/department certification. This requires analyzing their sustainability measures on a scorecard which is then verified. Through that process the GRO Facilitators educate other staff members in their office/department.

A brief description of the staff and/or other financial support the institution provides to the program (1st program):
University devotes staff time from the Office of Sustainability for continued support and training. Some categories require additional training by professionals outside of the Office of Sustainability. For example, one category awards points for resiliency and encourages staff to be CPR certified. The department can chose to send staff to an on campus program for a $50 fee to become CPR certified.
