A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution:
1. Community for Ecological Leaders (CEL): The Community for Ecological Leaders (CEL) is a residential hall for students interested in leadership and sustainability. The program begins with a four-day orientation trip in which exploring a specific topic through a sustainability lens. Currently, trips focus on watershed ecology, coastal issues, bike transportation, and local agriculture. The immersive CEL experience also includes a weekend trip in the fall trip to further explore sustainability in the community; a sustainability-themed Writing Composition course for CEL residents only; a sustainability-themed leadership course called EcoLeaders; and various other events and activities specially designed for CEL residents.
