A brief description of the sustainability trainings and professional development opportunities available to staff :
For decades, UO offices have independently taken steps to green their workspaces and activities. Now there is a formal program to recognize these efforts. The Office of Sustainability’s Green Office (GO) Program recognizes University of Oregon offices that:
Promote environmental awareness
Commit to reducing impacts
Measure their performance
Adopt best practice suggestions
Eight offices made up the ‘early-adopters circle’ beginning in the fall of 2012 and the program continues to grow in size and popularity.
The GO Scorecard tracks office sustainability across seven categories, including: prerequisites, energy, materials management, purchasing, transportation, events, and innovation. Offices are awarded a bronze, silver, gold, or platinum level certification when they complete and submit a scorecard.
