Various department across the institution offer programs that encourage student research in sustainability. The school of architecture and allied arts offers a number of competitive scholarships and awards focused on sustainability research. The graduate school also offers a number of research awards focused on sustainability research. Additionally, students can pursue funding from the student sustainability fund for they research projects.

The Incubating Interdisciplinary Initiatives (I3) award program is offered by Research, Innovation & Graduate Education (RIGE) to foster interdisciplinary research groups at UO. This program is designed to build capacity and support development of large-scale projects and programs that strategically enhance the UO’s research excellence by targeting specific federal agency programs that offer programmatic, large-scale funding.
