The number of faculty members engaged in research was a derived by combining the total number of Officers of Research (528) with the total number of tenure and tenure-track faculty (682) - all of whom are expected to conduct research. These totals were provided by the UO Office of Institutional Research, and are up-to-date as of February 2011.
