Part 1. Student commute modal split
Total percentage of students that use more sustainable commuting options as their primary mode of transportation:
A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:
From November of 2023 – January of 2024, An OU Qualtrics Survey was administered to gather data surrounding commuting behavior. Members of the campus community were asked questions related to affiliation on campus (staff/faculty, or student), level of education, major, living location, number of days traveled to campus per week, length of commute, and primary mode of transportation. There were 306 student responses, which was enough to qualify as a representative sample of campus given a 90% confidence level with 5% margin of error.
Part 2. Employee commute modal split
Total percentage of employees that use more sustainable commuting options as their primary mode of transportation:
A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting:
From November of 2023 – January of 2024, An OU Qualtrics Survey was administered to gather data surrounding commuting behavior. Members of the campus community were asked questions related to affiliation on campus (staff/faculty, or student), level of education, living location, number of days traveled to campus per week, length of commute, and primary mode of transportation. There were 178 employee responses, which was enough to qualify as a representative sample of the campus given a 90% confidence level with 7% margin of error.
