Does the institution have a pre-consumer food waste composting program?:
Yes

A brief description of the pre-consumer food waste composting program:

Our pre-consumer waste is handled in two ways. First, the University’s Food Service Support Facility sends approximately 51 tons per year of pre-consumer vegetable trim to a local farm to be used as animal feed. Second, we use garbage disposals to send the pre-consumer food waste in our units to the City of South Bend Waste Water Treatment Plant where the ground particles are processed and eventually placed on fields as fertilizer.
