A brief description of how the institution meets the criteria:
For approximately the last ten years the University has participated in the Targeted Small Business program which was legislated by the State of Iowa and implemented by the Department of Economic Development as a means of promoting small, woman and minority-owned Iowa businesses. It is the responsibility of each and every person with purchasing authority at UNI to seek out these businesses and to extend them opportunities to provide supplies and services.
