Does the institution compost or mulch waste from grounds keeping, including grass trimmings?:
A brief description of the composting or mulching program:
The University of Northern Iowa campus composts leaves, shrubs and tree branches and use this compost for landscaping operations. Grass clippings are mulched in place during the mowing operation. No yard waste goes to the landfill, although during some occasions the University has partnered with the City of Cedar Falls in a combined overflow composting operation.
