Does the institution hold a campaign that meets the criteria for this credit?:
Yes

The name of the campaign(s):
Unplugged Energy Challenge, Trayless Dining Campaign, Rider Recycling Revolution

A brief description of the campaign(s):

All three of these campaigns fell within the UNI Department of Residence. The Unplugged Energy Challenge focused on conservation of electricity with the residence halls. The Trayless Dining Campaign was started as a pilot project week long event and has morphed into an initiative embraced by the students. The Rider Recycling Revolution was a recycling campaign that increased student awareness of recycling and acted as a pilot project to determine the need for increased recycling options in residence halls.

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign(s):

Unplugged Energy Challenge - The average reduction of electricity across eight of the nine residence halls was 15.34 percent. Results showed that there was a correlation between the percentage of returned pledge forms and the percent of energy reduction shown.

Trayless Dining Campaign - During a one week Trayless Dining Campaign in the Piazza and Realto dining centers, 3,490 less pounds of food waste was generated. As a result, the dining centers are now almost completely tray free.

Rider Recycling Revolution - In the first semester of the campaign, recycling in Rider Hall increased 210% from the previous semester’s average. As a result, the entire residence hall system implemented a full service recycling program in the fall of 2010.
