Development of the UNBC Green Strategy, was based primarily on “UNBC’s Green Strategy Discussion Paper” adopted by the Green University Committee on 28 November 2008 and feedback received from the UNBC community during a public campus engagement event in early 2009.

The Green University Strategy describes a vision of a sustainable campus, lists objectives to achieve the vision and describes a set of strategies to achieve the objectives. Whether or not objectives have been acheieved will be the measure of success.

A Phase 1 progress report will be prepared by 1 September 2011. Progress towards the plan's intended goals during the period from July 2009-June 2011, will be evaluated in this report.
