A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contributed to the diversion rate:
UNT's recycling program has several receptacles throughout campus that collect paper, plastic, aluminum, and cardboard. Special pick-ups for large amounts of recyclables can be scheduled, as well as for Styrofoam and fluorescent lights. Recycling also picks up printer cartridges.
The residence halls use single-stream recycling, and all residence halls have a recycling bin in each room.
Residence hall front desks also have recycling containers for batteries and compact fluorescent light bulbs. Eco Reps and front desk clerks provide resident students with information on how to recycle in each specific residence hall.
