A brief description of how the institution ensures compliance with green building design and construction guidelines and policies:
As a signatory of the ACUPCC, UNT has completed 5 of the 7 tangible actions to include the establishment of a green building policy requiring that all new construction meet LEED Silver certification or higher. Currently, the university is completing two construction projects on a new Business Leadership Center (seeking Gold certification) and a new football stadium (seeking Platinum certification). If approved, these buildings will add an additional 595,000 square feet of LEED certified building space.
