In 2009, the University of North Texas Implemented a Green Building Policy requiring all new construction to meet LEED Silver Certification or higher. The university is currently identifying several campus buildings to apply for LEED EB certification, with an ultimate goal of 60% of all campus buildings achieving any level of LEED EB certification.
