A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome :
In October 2009, the Office of Sustainability applied for a $2,000,000 grant from the State Energy Conservation Office (SECO) to purchase and install three community-scale wind turbines near the new football stadium. In June 2010, UNT was awarded the grant and Dr. Spinks was designated as the Principal Investigator to oversee the project. Thus far, a feasibility study has been conducted and approved by the Department of Energy. The wind turbines will be installed in the Fall of 2011
