For Students:
The Office of Student Counseling complements the academic experience of the student body by facilitating healthy personal, social, and intellectual development of our students. Link: https://ung.edu/student-counseling/index.php
Services Offered include (but not limited to): Individual Therapy/Counseling, Group Therapy/Counseling, Suicide Prevention and Education, Problem Solving, Time Management Skills Building, Brief Crisis Intervention/Stabilization, Relaxation Training, Distress Tolerance Skills Building, Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse.
Individual and Group Therapies are available and UNG also provides Self-Help Resources and Outside Help Resources such as: Building a Healthy Relationship from the Start, Perfectionism, Suicide, Georgia Suicide Prevention Information Network, Signs of abuse and abusive relationships, Alcohol Prevention, Healthy Eating, Relaxation Techniques, Gender Identification, Ambiguous Loss, Living successfully with ADHD, 5 Love Languages Couples Self-Assessment, Screening for Mental Health
For employees:
The University System of Georgia’s vision is to create a culture and environment of well-being throughout the USG community that includes staff, faculty, and students. Our mission is to create supportive working environments and increase opportunities for employees to adopt behaviors that will assist them to lead happier and healthier lives as well as aid in reducing personal and healthcare costs.
UNG provides a “Wellness Program/Employee Assistance Program” as part of our benefits package located in each UNG’s Staff/Faculty’s personal OneUSG account. Employees are sent Wellness emails regularly; and Wellness is also highlighted on the Human Resources Facebook page regularly.
