In fall 2010, the Committee on LGBT Equity partnered with the Office of Institutional Research to administer a campus climate survey. Based on the survey results, the Committee on LGBT Equity offers recommendations to the university for the purpose of improving the campus climate toward LGBT individuals.

Year the assessment was last administered:
2,010

A brief description of how the results of the assessment(s) are used in shaping policy, programs, and initiatives:

After reviewing results from the climate survey as well as the 2006 report on the campus climate for LGBT people, the Committee on LGBT Equity drafted recommendations for the university community to become a more inclusive environment for LGBT students, faculty and staff, and to encourage knowledge and expression of gender and sexual orientation. The recommendations included adding gender identity and expression in the university non-discrimination policy and fully integrate LGBT equity concerns within the Office of Equal Opportunity.
