UNF is currently trying to achieve a 75% diversion rate by the year 2025, which is a goal initiated by Governor Charlie Crist.

Because of the collection method at the time, UNF does not have detailed information on total amount of trash collected from 2005. There is detailed information about recycling totals however. An estimate for 2005 was calculated using information from 2010-2012.
