Physical Facilities, whom maintains the grounds, prioritizes plants that are adapted to local conditions, which include both native and non-native plants. Native plants have exclusively been used in any area adjacent to the Sawmill Slough Preserve in the past where they have recently planted Florida native plants at the new Biology building, building 59.
