A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation:
1. The Environmental Center organizes a Week of Welcome event that discusses campus sustainability, with a focus on campus recycling. Students who participate receive a free recycling bin and reusable water bottle to use on campus. 2. The UNF Bookstore donates approximately 1,800 reusable bags that are given out to every new student. 3. During tours for potential students and incoming freshman, a number of sustainability topics are covered such as campus recycling, the organic garden, LEED buildings and our on-campus nature preserve.
