A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:

The Total percentage of students that use more sustainable commuting options as their primary mode of transportation was calculated according to the 2024 Permits - Students and Faculty Active Permits with City and Zip Excel. There are exactly 8,385.0 students who purchased a parking pass for the residential zones, resdient decks, several commutor lots, night time, and park and ride zones.

Taking into account the total student enrollment of 14,851.0 minus the students with a parking pass it came out to exactly 6,466.0 students who did not posses a parking pass. This means that the 6,466.0 individuals transport via walking, biking, public transit, carpooling, etc. on their commute to campus.

A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting:

The Total percentage of faculty that use more sustainable commuting options as their primary mode of transportation was calculated according to the 2024 Permits - Students and Faculty Active Permits with City and Zip Excel. There are exactly 2,242.0 Faculty and Staff who purchased a parking pass for the appropriated Faculty and Staff zones. This number was determined through the excel, not including adjunct faculty, aramark managment, board of trustees, defender staff, issac bear staff, part-time faculty, retiree's, and temporary employees.

Taking into account the employee total number of 2,297.0 minus the 2,242.0 Faculty/Staff with a parking permit there are 55 Faculty/Staff without a permit, meaning that those indiivuals use more sustainable modes of transport to the university.
