A brief description of the institution’s green event certification program:

The Gold Talon Events program is a 3 tiered system to encourage hosting sustainable events. The first tier represents what everyone should be doing for every event in all of the categories above. Second tier is above and beyond, and third tier includes educating guests about the event's sustainable aspects. The Office of Sustainability has a partnership with UNCW Catering to provide sustainable catering practices for all events that indentify as "Gold Talon." The Office is also in partnership with UNCW Advancement to hold every single one of their events as Gold Talon. This office holds dozens of events per semester and reaches many on and off-campus partners with these events.
