UNCP adheres to all applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations to ensure the safety of our Faculty, Staff, Students, Contractors, and visitors on campus. The EHS office has implemented multiple safety and health programs based on OSHA regulator guidance to protect employees from hazards encountered while working on campus.

A brief description of the methodology used to track and calculate the number of recordable incidents of work-related injury or ill health :
The EHS and HR offices are notified of an accident by supervisors and incident reports are submitted to a shared email address. A root cause analysis is conducted by EHS and work orders are submitted for any campus deficiency that may have caused the incident. HR handles all referrals to the occupational health doctor for assessment and treatment as well as all worker's compensation claims and associated records retention.
