Academics

Market the newly developed interdisciplinary academic undergraduate minor in sustainability and encouraging studenst to becomes more sustainabable in their everyday lives. Expand learning opportunities for students by creation of more sustainability focused and related courses, i.e., an energy management course, etc. Encourage students to participate in our sustainability department by sharing ideas and suggestions from their prepective.
Engagement

Increase the sustainability related professional development opportunities for employees. Improve all areas needed to transition the campus’s AASHE STARS “Bronze” rating into a “Silver” rating by 2019. Increase campus partnerships, sponsorships and visibility while creating a culture of environmental, social and economic sustainability across the community, region and State of North Carolina.

The Energy Management & Sustainability Programs strive to minimize the campus' environmental impact; provide sustainable, high-performance, energy-efficient, and healthful facilities; partner with faculty and staff to produce educated graduates needed to lead the changes necessary to resolve the world’s social, environmental and economic challenges while positively impacting the local economy.
