-UNCP Community Garden is located on campus and operated by students, faculty, staff, and volunteers. The community garden is incorporated into the curriculum for courses in sustainable agriculture. The project is governed by the Garden Committee--comprised of students, faculty, and staff.
-Dr. Bryan Sales also leads the UNCP Agriculture Club which has farmland purchased by UNCP for planting crops for local supply and learning a trade that is vital to the local communities.

UNCP's annual days of service allow students to participate in a tree-planting event that teaches them the importance and skills needed to plant trees. At this event, students often volunteer with the community garden, learning similar skills as it relates to sustainable food development. This event also supports the campus' Tree Campus USA (Tree Care Plan) efforts.

Job Description:
The Sustainability Office at UNCP routinely seeks qualified, motivated and energetic interns (two positions available throughout the year). Successful candidates report directly to the Sustainability Director. Candidates will be directly involved with the coordination, execution, marketing and advancement of campus sustainability initiatives, programs, projects and events. Candidates must have the ability to perform the above mentioned tasks, as well as other related duties as needed and assigned.
