A brief description of the assessment process and the framework, scorecard(s) and/or tool(s) used:

Through administration of standardized testing (BSSE, NSSE, StarLabs, etc.), the University has assessed feedback from students and staff related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. Programming on campus has resulted from survey.

Additionally, assessment is conducted through Student Affairs for programs, events, activities, and interactions related to EDIJ initiatives. Assessments are reviewed and appropriate changes are made in offerings to best support students, faculty, and staff.

The University and the Division of Student Affairs strive to promote a climate at UNCG where everyone feels supported and welcomed. In order to better understand student experiences here, the iBelong Project was launched in the Spring 2019 semester. The project utilized the Culturally Engaging Campus Environments (CECE) survey, developed by the National Institute for Transformation and Equity. https://sa.uncg.edu/ibelong/

In 2021, UNCG launch a new website and roadmap for EDI on campus which will
- Advance an Academic Framework, which will advance equity, diversity, and inclusive excellence action and provide a roadmap to guide campus-wide efforts toward systemic change.
- Invest in Pathways to Equity, which will focus on mentoring, faculty success, and leadership development for underrepresented faculty.
- Promote Inclusive Excellence with education and training, and providing guidance for discovery assessment and strategic priorities planning for equity, diversity, and inclusion.

The UNCG Diversity Dashboard Series is an interactive tool that provides disaggregated equity, access, and climate indicators for faculty and staff. A custom, user-driven, intersectional analysis tool is also available. Using a boutique approach, the UNCG Diversity Dashboard Series increases our knowledge about the strengths and challenges in areas of race and gender equity; equity diversity, and inclusion; campus climate, and may inform strategic priorities and action.
