A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
Facilities Management hired the UNC Charlotte Urban Institute to conduct the surveys. Invitations were sent via email to 371 employees, with a completion by 233 respondents (63%). Survey questions covered demographics, job focus, customers, teamwork, supervisiion, leadership, values, coworkers, and overall satisfaction. There were direct questions about job satisfaction, learning opportunities, advancement opportunities, work culture and work/life balance.

Facilities Management has discussed the results among its directors and instituted multiple changes based on the survey in areas of professional development and training, recognition, communications to staff, and re-organization of some units.
