6.3 Institutional climate assessment

Description of the methodology used to assess institutional climate:

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion led the climate survey in order to understand successes and find opportunities for improvement in programs and initiatives that support an inclusive and welcoming environment. More than 9.000 people responded to the survey, an 18.5% response rate.

Respondents were asked if UNC provides a welcoming and inclusive community, interactions between groups, and feelings of safety.
