A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):
The Residence Hall Association (RHA) at UNC – CH funds and coordinates a robust peer-to-peer sustainability outreach and education program in all university residence halls. An elected Director of Sustainable Programming (DSP) manages and trains a team of Sustainability Officers (SO). Each community has one to two SOs, who work to provide enhanced recycling and composting infrastructure. These SOs also collaborate with Green Games assistants to develop and deliver sustainability programming, such as BYO programs, bulletin boards, compost kick-offs, and energy competitions. All sustainable activities count for Green Games points. The hall with the most points at the end of the year is crowned the Green Games winner.
