A brief description of the institution’s bicycle program, including the year the award was achieved and/or renewed:
UNC received silver level Bicycle Friendly University designation in 2014. Both the University and the Town of Chapel Hill hired the same firm to develop a Bicycle Master Plan for the community and the campus. The plan aims to improve bicycle circulation, infrastructure, and parking on campus.
