A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the inventory:

The sustainability research inventory was completed by a group of five undergraduate UNC students working on their Environmental Capstone Project. Creating the inventory involved hours of using searchable databases, primarily RAMSeS and Collexis, to sort through UNC research programs to find sustainability related initiatives. The capstone team also used departmental websites and personal contact with UNC faculty to gather information on sustainability research.
