University of New Haven offers a two-week study abroad program in San Salvador that concentrates on the socio-economic impacts of humans in sensitive environments and the environmental impacts of climate change, “ENVS 6633 Selected Topics in Field Geology”. Environmental Science students study the hydrology, ecology, geomorphology, and sustainability of San Salvador island. During their time on the island, students analyze and compare San Salvador’s field geology to the field geology in the Northeastern region of the U.S.
