A brief description of the assessment process and the framework, scorecard(s) and/or tool(s) used:

In 2018, UNH contracted with Rankin and Associates consulting to conduct a campus-wide study entitled "Assessment of the Climate for Living, Learning and Working." Members of the UNH community formed the Climate Study Working Group (CSWG), which was compose do faculty, administrators, staff and students, and the group was tasked with developing a campus-wide survey instrument and promoting the survey for administration between February and April, 2019. The survey explored issues of diversity, equity and inclusion on campus, as well as employee and student satisfaction with their experiences. All eligible members of the UNH community were invited to participate; they received an email from President James Dean with the survey url.

In 2023, UNH conducted a follow-up of the original survey. As per the published report:

"The 2023 Campus Climate Survey largely replicates the 2019 Rankin and Associates survey for benchmarking while also streamlining and shortening the survey response. The final survey instrument contained nearly 100 questions, including up to 20 open-ended questions, 15 of which were conditioned on a previous response, and 5 of which were shown to all respondenats to provide commentary.

All members of the University of New Hampshire community were invited to particpate int he survey. Prospective respondents received an invitation from the UNH Survey Center that contained a url link to the survey instrument. The Climate Survey Task Force worked with the University of New Hampshire's communications team to create inclusive, thoughtful and tailored messaging for email distribution, social media plaforms and other forms of media...."
