A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:

The UNH Human Resources (HR) team gives a half-day orientation to all new UNH employees. As part of this, a brief overview of UNH's sustainability leadership efforts across education, research, and practice on campus is included. This is paired with a quarterly email to any new employees from the Sustainability Institute, welcoming them and suggesting they sign up for our monthly sustainability email newsletter for faculty and staff, and also giving them instructions on how to complete our online sustainability learning module (10 videos with an accompanying quiz following each) on 10 different aspects of how UNH practices sustainability) to deepen their understanding of sustainability at UNH. The information also helps to inform new UNH employees about how to become more involved with sustainability efforts on campus, and highlights resources to staff that will enhance sustainable behavior in the professional setting.

UNHSI staff also are part of new faculty orientation each August. Sustainability is introduced at a high level and then new faculty are given time to complete our online learning module on sustainability at UNH during the 2-day program. This is followed by a dedicated sustainability "lunch and learn" as part of the new faculty orientation 2-day program where the focus is on diving deeper on how UNH faculty can be supported to integrate sustainability into their research, teaching and engagement.
