A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :
Staff at the Sustainability Institute coordinated the data gathering and assessment for AC1. We used AY 2019-2020 as a representative sample of our course offerings over the submission period (the past 3.5 years). A complete course list including subjects, titles, instructors and descriptions from the AY19-20 course catalog was obtained from the registrar's office. A UNHSI intern reviewed each course title/description for an indication of whether it could be considered either sustainability-focused or sustainability-inclusive, based on the criteria in the STARS Technical Manual and reference to the SDG's. When the determination seemed unclear (approximately three dozen courses), faculty instructors were contacted to ask them for more input or clarification. Occasionally UNHSI team members were consulted in addition. Those courses ultimately deemed to be either sustainability-focused or sustainability-inclusive were added to the attached inventory, with their course descriptions. Once the inventory was compiled, it was reviewed by a staff member for completeness, consistency and accuracy.
How were courses with multiple offerings or sections counted for the figures reported above?:
Each course was counted as a single course regardless of the number of offerings or sections
A brief description of how courses with multiple offerings or sections were counted:
If a course was open to both undergraduates and graduates, it was counted as both an undergraduate course and a graduate course. A course was only counted once if it was taught in a year, regardless of whether it was offered more than one semester.
