A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:

Climate Solutions New England (CSNE) promotes collaboration and collective impact towards the goal of greater energy self-reliance and weather resilience that contribute to healthy, prosperous, and sustainable communities across New England.

CSNE is an initiative of The University of New Hampshire Sustainability Institute and is lead by faculty and staff from the Sustainability Institute and the University of New Hampshire.

A brief description of any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation (if not reported above):

CSNE has produced a number of analyses and reports, including but not limited to the following:

- Infrastructure and Climate Network (ICNet), 2011-2016
- Southern NH Climate Assessment (2014)
- Northern NH Climate Assessment (2014)
- Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Fund – Year 3 (July 2011 – June 2012) Evaluation
- Assessing the Risk of 100-year Freshwater Floods in the Lamprey River Watershed of New Hampshire Resulting from Changes in Climate and Land Use (2013)
- Climate Impacts on the Winter Tourism Economy of the United States (2012)
- New Hampshire’s Energy, Environmental, and Economic Development Benchmark Report (2012)
- Campus Carbon Calculator and Small Town Carbon Calculator (STOCC)

In 2014-2016, under a new effort called Assessing Integrated Solutions to New England's Changing Climate, CSNE seeks to assemble and collaborate with a multidisciplinary and multi-sectoral team to engage in an assessment and broad communication of integrated solutions to New England’s changing climate. The purpose of this effort is twofold: 1) to develop, publish, and communicate an assessment to help guide decision-making at the local and regional level with an emphasis on integrated solutions to New England’s changing climate; and 2) to build and strengthen ties, connectivity, and alignment among a network of organizations, agencies, businesses, and individuals that contribute to greater energy and climate resilience across the region. Through an iterative, participatory process, the network will identify and assess integrated solutions that reflect a shared understanding of the nature of the challenges and opportunities that we face and a common agenda and metrics for collaborative responses that build secure, resilient, and sustainable communities.
