A brief description of how the employee educators are selected (1st program):

Until 2013, UNHSI ran the UNH Sustainability Stewards program in partnership with the campus-wide Energy Task Force. Sustainability Stewards was a voluntary program in which employee volunteers received sustainability information to share with their buildings, departments and offices through monthly lunches, in-person events and guest lectures. The program moved online with information shared via email in 2013.

During academic year 2013-2014, UNHSI dissolved the Sustainability Stewards and began sharing sustainability information with employees electronically via the UNHSI website, Campus Journal (the UNH Durham employee newsletter, which has a dedicated sustainability section that UNHSI writes), emails, newsletters, and social media.

UNH Sustainability Stewards received knowledge and information on best practices, policies and issues surrounding sustainability on campus.

The program was facilitated by the Sustainability Institute and the Energy Task Force, working with other offices on campus like the Energy Office and Campus Planning.
