A brief description of the trans-fats avoidance program, policy, or practice:
UNH Dining has substantially reduced trans-fats in the dining halls in recent years. In Fall of 2006 UNH Dining committed to eliminating trans-fats. Great strides have been made, yet some areas remain especially challenging, particularly with baked goods. But UNH Dining works closely with UNH Dietetic Interns and the Dept. of Nutrition, along with its own in-house dietician, and follows the "Guiding Stars" healthy eating program.
