Does the institution have sustainability-themed housing (residential floor or hall, or theme house) where residents learn about sustainability together and to which residents must apply?:
Yes

A brief description of the themed housing:

Living Green. Hunter Hall is home of the “Living Green” floor. Approximately 25 first-year students that are passionate about the environment live in this coed community. As a result of living on the “Living Green” floor students will connect to the many “green” organizations, activities, and faculty on campus. For example, on November 12, 2009 Office of Sustainability staff facilitated a 1.5 hour discussion about sustainability with the residents, including how they can incorporate sustainable habits into their lifestyles, explaining some of the sustainability projects on campus, and how the University Office of Sustainability promotes sustainability both on and off campus.

Other themed dorms that explore components of sustainability include:

o The Arts. Eaton House is a community of students passionate about the arts, including writing, music, theater and other creative arts.
o Multicultural Living. A floor in SERC-C is for open-minded students who want to live and learn with lots of different people. In addition, a portion of the floor is themed, “Be the Change You Wish to See: Active Citizenship in a Multicultural World.”
o Outdoor Experiential Living. Hall House is a community of residents who love to be outside doing everything from skiing to hiking to camping or just walking in the woods.
o Chem Free Living. Engelhardt Hall is a welcoming and respectful community of 125 residents with a variety of interests and majors. What residents all have in common is the theme of S.E.L.F – Students Electing to Live Free, to be drug and alcohol free.
o The Club House. Gibbs Hall is a community for students focused on sports, fitness, and wellness.
o Honors, Making the Grade, and English 401 Honors: In the Balance. Hubbard Hall is a coed residence of 210 students dedicated to academic excellence.
o International Living. Smith Hall houses about 100 students with rich culture and a variety of nationalities. There are currently over 12 languages spoken at Smith Hall!
o Living in Harmony. A floor in Devine Hall is for students passionate about playing and making music.
o Wired. A floor in Stoke Hall is for students who share an interest in computers and technology.
